Example Forecast 02/07/11 – 03/07/11 – Tuesday Early Bird Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

The main action will be a fat Low of 1004 millibars sat between Iceland, North West Scotland and North Western Ireland. There will be two other fatter Low’s in the Mid-Atlantic off the North American Coast heading our way. Whilst the High will be at 1024 millibars off the Scandinavian Coast into the North Sea, with another in the Southern Mid-Atlantic. It is unclear at this time where exactly the pressure systems will sit come Sunday, but as it stands the situation will remain more or less the same; just with the Southern Mid-Atlantic High pressure moving in a tad. Stay tuned for further updates, as things will undoubtedly develop as the week goes on………….

OVERALL

A difficult one at this stage, not really great anywhere, our call would be the far Western spots on the Northern Scottish Coasts. The East Coast everywhere will be flat, and the South West and Wales will have small waves, with changing winds – and not changing in a good way overall! But do stay tuned for further updates, as things may change as the week goes on…………

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
