Example Forecast 17/09/11 – 18/09/11 – Tuesday Arvo. Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Friday's Low of 990 millibars that impacted into Western Ireland, will have crossed mainland UK by Saturday to be replaced by a big High pressure of 1028 millibars off North Western Galicia in the near Atlantic for Saturday midday. Sunday at this stage will see the High remain in situ more or less and the only hint of a Low will be from Greenland / Iceland, trying to squeeze down and in. How successful that will be, we'll have to wait and see as the week goes on, so stay tuned for further updates, as things will undoubtedly develop as the week goes on………….

OVERALL

Compared to last weekend, this one looks a bit more lack lustre, not much to mention of consequence for the East Coast, the South Coast will have some fun waves down in the far South West, everywhere else will be onshore! Okay a bit of an over exageration perhaps, but more or less a fair assesment! - do read your individual areas to get a less jaded picture! But do, stay tuned for further updates, as things will undoubtedly develop as the week goes on…………

BEGINNERS / IMPROVERS

Newquay town beaches throughout or some of the normal South Coast spots on Saturday would be our suggestion. It's all about getting wet / battling this weekend. Stay tuned for further updates, as things may change as the week goes on…………

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
