Example Forecast 24/07/10 – 25/07/10 – Thursday Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A weak Low pressure of 1004 millibars will be hitting Iceland in the face from the West, it’s sphere of influence and resulting occluded front will cross all of the mainland UK on Saturday. Meanwhile a High of 1028 millibars off the North Western Spanish Coasts, will slowly move into Southern England’s sphere of influence as Sunday starts. A new fat Low of 1000 millibars will start to move in from Southern Greenland and the North Western Atlantic towards us. But it’s impact will be slight due to the High pressure till next week once it can actually get in.

OVERALL

Well by far the best option will be Western and Northern Scotland – everywhere else will be small and naff.

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
