Example Forecast 10/03/12 – 11/03/12 – Tuesday Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Right a High of 1036 millibars over Central Europe will play a staring role over the period. It will edge up from France into Southern England on Saturday and by Sunday it will cover much of Southern to Central England and Wales. The Low action will be based around Greenland and Iceland, in a narrow corridor stretching from Nova Scotia to Greenland & Iceland and on to Northern Norway. The Low’s in this swathe will vary from 976 millibars off Greenland early on Saturday, with another North East of Greenland at 968 millibars. As the period goes on these Low’s will fatten to 980 millibars and continue to fatten over the period. Stay tuned for further updates, as things may well change as the week goes on…………

OVERALL

Hmm, still fun in Northern Scotland (when is it never we ask ourselves, oh yes kicking out time at Skinandis!) some hunting as ever to shelter from the winds is the call to get the best of what there is. The East Coast will be flat-ish throughout, the South Coast weak (except in the far South West). The Channel Islands looks fun! ;0) The South West and Wales will be fun too at times, at swell amplifying spots – read your areas to make the most what there is. Stay tuned for further updates, as things may well change as the week goes on…………

BEGINNERS / IMPROVERS

A fun and challenging but not too much weekend for you guys – get the fitness levels up! Always look and right before even paddling as there may be some one else who has priority, or who is up and riding. Stay tuned for further updates, as things may change as the week goes on…………

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
