Example Forecast 21/04/12 – 22/04/12 – Monday Late Night Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Well things are hotting-up for the weekend, from the complicated pressure chart angle at least! A Low of 990 millibars over the mainland of the UK will remain in situ over the period, deepening if anything, sucking in a minor front in from Western Iceland over the period. An Azorean High of 1024 millibars to the West over the period will push the Low into the North Sea a tad. So basically most places will have a rideable ripple at certain times, read your areas to make the most of what there is…… Stay tuned for further updates, as things may well change as the week goes on…………

OVERALL

Hmmm, a bit of an all over the place type of weekend, Sunday AM for the East Coast, Wales at certain times and the South Coast on Saturday. So loads to choose from, - the South West looks just big and lumpy. Make your choice and go……... Stay tuned for further updates, as things may well change as the week goes on…………

BEGINNERS / IMPROVERS

Some South Coast hunting will be worth it on Saturday, failing that go to Wales! Having said that Norfolk will have a suitable ripple on Sunday, so quite a lot to choose from (the SW will be just big and lumpy). Stay tuned for further updates, as things may change as the week goes on…………

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
