Example Forecast 07/07/12 – 08/07/12 – Thursday Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A Low of 1008 millibars will be over much of the UK on Saturday, this pressure system will be the dominant one for much of Western Europe over the period. This system will then be pushed by a big area of Mid-Atlantic High pressure in the 1028 millibars range, Sunday seeing the Low pushed East into the Lower North Sea, and Scandinavia at 1008 millibars. Read the detail to get the most of what there is, as things have changed, especially for Northern and Eastern Scotland………

OVERALL

Small in the South West and Wales (although it will be clean at least), swell amplifying spots are your best bet. Northern (and Eastern) Scotland will have head high swell, but the key will be sheltering from the wind. So searching will be needed, wherever you go…..

BEGINNERS / IMPROVERS

A great weekend for you guys to practice especially in the South West, not challenging and well within your comfort zone, time to dominate, get out back and go for the real green / unbroken waves - enjoy! :0)

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
