Example Forecast 21/07/12 – 22/07/12 – Tuesday Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

The scenario is as follows, there will be a High of 1020 millibars over the mainland UK on Saturday with a Low of 990 millibars South East of Greenland (between Greenland and Iceland). By Sunday this Low will start to dominate the weather scenario, as it moves East just South of Iceland at 984 millibars, Southern England and Central Europe will be under the influence of double centred High pressure systems both in the mid 1020 millibar range. So this will mean weak and lack luster swell for much of the UK over the period (due to Saturday’s High), before Northern Scotland starts to go off it’s face on Sunday thanks to the Low just South of Iceland. Stay tuned for further updates, as things may well change (we can only hope!) as the week goes on…………

OVERALL

Well the only thing of note is Sunday in Northern Scotland, hunt and ye shall find! ;0) Everywhere else will be small and naff. Stay tuned for further updates, as hopefully things may change as the week goes on…………

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
