Example Forecast 04/08/12 – 05/08/12 – Thursday Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A Low of 1004 millibars will be over Southern Ireland on Saturday, the High pressure system to counter will be to the West of us in the Mid-Atlantic in the 1024 millibar range. On Sunday the Low will have filled ever so slightly, and been pushed East covering most of the UK. The High pressures, still out to the West of us in the Mid-Atlantic, will head ever so slightly in our direction over the period, hence the movement of the Low. As everything is Mid-Atlantic based all the swell will be in the South Western UK / South, so read your individual areas to make the most of what there is…..

OVERALL

Looking non-existent for Scotland and the East Coast overall, all the action is in the South West, Wales, and the South Coast a bit too - there will be fun waves out there, hunting and a bit of luck will be key. Read your individual areas to make the most of what there is….

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
