Example Forecast 15/09/12 – 16/09/12 – Tuesday Early Bird Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A High of 1020 millibars will move in from the Atlantic into our hemisphere, encompassing most of Ireland and large parts of Southern England. The Low will be twofold to the West and North East of Iceland both in the 998 millibars range. By Sunday the Western Icelandic Low will have moved East being sucked into the North Eastern Low in the Norwegian Sea, forming one big entity of 984 millibars. This movement, will in turn squeeze the High that is still around Southern England (which will have moved East too into Europe too). So yet again the only real swell will be limited to Northern Scotland over the period. Stay tuned for further updates, as things may well change as the week goes on…………

OVERALL

Northern Scotland is where the action is over the period with well overhead waves on Saturday, hunt and find spots that can handle the winds and you should get some fun rides. Every other Coast looks like degrees of smallness. Stay tuned for further updates, as hopefully things may change as the week goes on…………

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
