Example Forecast 22/09/12 – 23/09/12 – Thursday Early Bird Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A High over much of the UK on Saturday of 1020 millibars, will see two areas of Low pressure systems surrounding us, one around Iceland at 996 millibars and another moving up from the Azores into the Bay of Biscay again at 996 millibars. Sunday looks to see the Azorean Low move into the Bay of Biscay being slightly fatter now at 1004 millibars, the Icelandic Low will also have fattened, and still be in situ at 1000 millibars. The Low’s will have pushed the High East into the North Sea, Scandinavia and North Eastern Europe. The effect of all this movement will be swell for Northern Scotland on Sunday and equally for South Western UK (and Wales) on Sunday too, make sure you read your relevant areas to make the most of what there is……..

OVERALL

Northern Scotland on Sunday, and deepest darkest Kernow and parts of Wales on Sunday too would be our call. Make sure you read your relevant areas to make the most of what there is……….

BEGINNERS / IMPROVERS

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
