PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A High of 1036 millibars plus over the Channel and much of the UK will dominate the weather over the period. The Low pressures will be mainly to the North and North West of us over the period, in the Greenland Sea at 994 millibars, the Denmark Strait (just off the Greenland Coast) at 984 millibars and the North Western Atlantic / Labrador Sea at 978 millibars. Sunday will see the High centred over Central England at 1028 millibars encompassing all of Southern and Mainbland Europe, with the North Western Atlantic Low having moved East to sit South of Greenland enveloping the Greenland (denmark Strait) Low, creating a deeper entity of 968 millibars South of Greenland and West of Iceland. OVERALL

Fun for the South West throughout and Wales(particlarly on Sunday), Northern scotland will also have some fun waves. So an okay weekend, as things stand at the moment, but stay tuned for further updates, as things may change as the week goes on…………

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
