Example Forecast 26/01/13 – 27/01/13 – Tuesday Early Bird Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Okay the weather will be dominated by a really big Low South of Greenland and just South West of Iceland at 932 millibars by Midday on Saturday. Clearly this Low is huage and it will dominate our weather throughout the period, Sunday will see the Low fill slightly to 950 millibars and move slightly North, but still be in the Northern North Atlantic, South of Greenland and West of Iceland. By Midday on Sunday a High of 1024 millibars will sit over the Azores, but this will remain in situ not really effecting things per say, except to put a bit more South Westerly in the winds for Sunday. Read your relevant areas and stay tuned for further updates as, as the week goes on, as things may well change…………

OVERALL

Sizeable in Northern Scotland, and building in the South West and Wales, the South Coast will only really have swell in the far South West, nothing to mention East of Devon or on the East Coast for that matter. Stay tuned for further updates, as thing may change as the week goes on…………

BEGINNERS / IMPROVERS

Big in the South West and Wales with strong winds so mind your heads! Head for sheltered spots that will be more manageable for you. Stay tuned for further updates, as things may change as the week goes on…………

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
