Example Forecast 13/04/13 – 14/04/13 – Tuesday Early Bird Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A big area of Low pressure in the Near Mid-Atlantic of 972 millibars on Friday will move in towards us, and by Saturday will have deepened to 956 millibars. The High will come out of Greenland, dropping down into the North Sea and Scandinavia at 1024 millibars on Saturday. Sunday will see the Low pushed Northwards, as the High fattens over Scandinavia to 1032 millibars. Consequently the Low still at 956 millibars will be squeezed Northwards up the Western face of Ireland on Sunday. All this will mean surf for the Western facing Coasts, and some of it will wrap-round to the East Coast for Sunday. Make sure you stay tuned for further updates as, as the week goes on, as things may well change…………

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
