PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A High of 1032 millibars will be centered North West of the Azores in the Mid-Atlantic throughout the period. This High will stretch all the way into Southern and Mid-England at 1016 millibars, again throughout the period. The low’s will come out of Greenland and effect mainly the North of the UK, Saturday will see a series of three Low’s of about 992 millibars to 995 millibars, with the deepest off the Eastern Greenland Coast, and the weaker ones being over Northern Scotland. Sunday will see the Scottish Low have moved East into Scandinavia and the Greenland Low moving South East, crossing Iceland and sitting between Iceland and Northern Scotland. This Low will remain deep in comparison to the Azorean / Mid-Atlantic High, and will vary between 992 millibar to 988 millibars as next week starts. All this will mean swell for the South West / Wales and Scotland at times, read your areas to get the best of what is out there……..

OVERALL

Well the cleanest and most fun looks to be Northern Scotland on Sunday, but the South West (and Wales) will get lumpy swell throughout. Read your areas to get the best of what is out there…….

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
