Example Forecast 03/08/13 – 04/08/13 – Friday Early Bird Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A Low of 992 millibars will be off the North West Coast of Scotland on Saturday, with another double centred fatter entity at about 1012 millibars in the Mid and Near Atlantic too. Sunday will see the Mid / Near Atlantic entity move in, splitting in the process with one half heading North, pushing the Scottish Low up into the Norwegian Sea. Whilst the Mid-Atlantic one will just continue enroute to the Near South West of the UK by Midday on Sunday. Read your respective areas to make the most of what there is, good hunting……..

OVERALL

The best of the rest is the South West and Wales on Sunday where shoulder to head high waves may be possible at exposed / swell amplifying spots. Not great elsewhere, or not a lot to write home about at least! Good hunting……..

BEGINNERS / IMPROVERS

Challenging for you in the South West, Devon and Wales will be more manageable for you. Getting in the water is always fun……

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
