PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

This weekend will see a Low of 992 millibars coming down from Greenland to sit between Iceland and Northern Scotland on Saturday. The High pressure will be around the Azores at 1024 millibars, Sunday will see the High weaken to 1020 millibars, but it will push the Low (still at 992 millibars) slightly East into the Northern North Sea / Southern Norwegian Sea. This will mean swell but mainly for Western and Northern Scotland, there is a good chance that the winds and swell may change increase / decrease (especially for areas South of Scotland as the week goes on, so do stay tuned. But make sure you read your relevant areas and stay tuned as things may change as the week goes on, as things may well change…………

OVERALL

The best of the bunch is Northern Scotland again, the rest of the UK will be variable degrees of mediocrity, make sure you read your relevant areas to make the most of what there is. Also do stay tuned for further updates, as thing may change as the week goes on…………

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
