PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A big High pressure of 1040 millibars will sit just of the West of the UK (and Ireland), this will slowly move in over the period, and eventually come in to sit over the whole of the UK by Sunday, being 1036 millibars. The Low’s will come out of the Denmark Sea between Greenland and Iceland at 992 millibars, this Low will then move into the Greenland Sea by Midday Saturday deepening as it goes. Sunday will see the Low continue East into the Norwegian Sea at 976 millibars before it then goes into Norway by Midday Sunday. All this will mean that the majority of the swell will be in Northern Scotland, and the East Coast, although the South West and Wales at times will also have swell, make sure you read you relevant areas to make the most of what there is, and to avoid the winds……..

A mixed bag if ever there was one, Scotland on Sunday, the East Coast at times. The rest is a bit debatable, so make sure you read you relevant areas to make the most of what there is.………….

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
