Example Forecast 31/05/14 – 01/06/14 – Tuesday Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A High pressure of 1024 millibars over the mainland of the UK, with another High pressure of 1028 millibars in the Mid / Near Atlantic around the Azores of 1028 millibars will dominate the weather over the period. There will be a fat Low of 1000 millibars just off the Eastern Greenland Coast on Saturday, but this will have little or no effect for us. Sunday will see the Azorean High pressure dominate the whole of the Mid-Atlantic whilst the fat Greenland Low may have moved down and South Easterly towards North Western Ireland, still fat and about 1008 millibars. There will remain an area of High pressure around Southern England, still around 1024 millibars. This will all mean that there will be little or no swell everywhere, but do read your areas and stay tuned for further updates, as things may well change as the week goes on…………

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
