Example Forecast 14/06/14 – 15/06/14 – Friday Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A High pressure of 1028 millibars will sit to the West of the UK in the Near Atlantic on Saturday, generally blocking any Low pressure from getting in to Western Coasts throughout the period. The main Low to speak of will be a fat one of 1008 millibars in the Mid Atlantic on Saturday, but as mentioned not really producing swell that will get through the High pressure that will sit more over us on Sunday too at 10328millibars. All this will mean small weak swell at best, read your areas to make the most of what there is……

OVERALL

Small to flat everywhere, the South West is the best hope, although the East Coast will also have ripples (due to the onshore winds). Read your area to make the most of what out’s there……..

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
