PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A Low pressure of 995 millibars will sit just off the Western Scottish Coast on Saturday midday. There will also be another Low of the same depth in the North Sea off the Scandinavian Coast. The High’s will be to the North of us around Greenland, 1022 millibars, Iceland, 1006 millibars and then to the South of us coming out of North America will be two High pressures at 1002 millibars, and then another at 1006 millibars to the West of us. Sunday will see the Low still in the area of Scotland, now off Northern Scotland at 997 millibars. The two High pressures coming across the midlle Atlantic will see the nearest to us deepen suddenly to about 999 millibars, and move rapidly move up the Channel, deepening as it goes. As a consequence of all this action South facing spots are the call throughout, but do stay tuned for further updates as the week goes on……

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
