PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A Low pressure of 995 millibars will sit just off the Western Scottish Coast on Saturday midday. There will also be another fatter Low of 1000 millibars in the North Sea to the West of the Scandinavian Coast. The High’s will be to the North of us around Greenland at 1029 millibars, and Iceland at 1005 millibars. Then to the South of us coming out of North America will be a Low pressure of 1002 millibars. Sunday will see the Northern Low still in the area of Scotland, now off Northern Scotland at 996 millibars. Meanwhile the Mid Atlantic Low pressure coming out of North America will have moved rapidly up the Channel deepening a bit as it goes to 999 millibars. As a consequence of all this action South facing spots are your best bet at getting something rideable overall, but there will be also be a North Sea ripple, so do read the details……

Wales (South facing spots) and the South Coast are the call for sure, make sure you read the details to get the best of what there is.

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
