PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A Low pressure of 991 millibars will sit just off the Northern Scottish Coast on Saturday midday, with a High of 1029 millibars sitting above it in Greenland. The main High pressure however will sit in the Bay of Biscay and stretch into the Mid-Atlantic art 1029 millibars. There will be another weaker High pressure coming out of North America at 1024 millibars, with a weak / fat Low in the Mid-Atlantic at 1008 millibars. Sunday will see a Low coming out of Greenland at 1030 millibars, this High will push Saturday’s Northern Scottish Low into the North Sea, deepening to 990 millibars during the process. In the Mid-Atlantic the fat Low on Saturday will have deepened to 998 millibars, but this Low doesn’t really look like it will effect the South West at this time anyway. So all the action looks to be in Scotland and on the East Coast, make sure you read the detail to get the best of what there is,,,,,,

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
