Example Forecast 13/09/14 – 14/09/14 – Tuesday Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Things are unclear as they stand partly because the weather is so (comparatively) good at the moment, but a Low of about 1000 millibars in the Near Atlantic on Midday Saturday. The High pressure of 1028 millibars will sit over Northern England and Scotland, this will be the counter balance to the Low, and it will stop the Low from really getting in, so good weather, but……! Sunday will see the High pressure grow to 1030 millibars and cover a wider area from Scandinavia all the way to cover most of mainland France and the Bay of Biscay. The Low will have been moved slightly West into the Mid-Atlantic at about 1004 millibars. So all this will mean that what swell there is will only really get in to super exposed swell amplifying spots, make sure you read the detail and stay tuned for further updates as the week goes on……

OVERALL

Nothing getting in due to the High pressure over the North of us, but do stay tuned as things may change as the week goes on…………

BEGINNERS / IMPROVERS

Small swell only, spots in deepest darkest Cornwall are your best. But do stay tuned as things may change as the week goes on…………

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
