Example Forecast 20/09/14 – 21/09/14 – Tuesday Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A High pressure of 1024 millibars will sit between Iceland and Ireland, encompassing much of the UK and Northern Europe on Saturday. Two low pressures, one South of Greenland (the Far Western Atlantic) at 996 millibars, with another fatter one West of Portugal at 1008 millibars. Sunday will see the Western Atlantic Low move East towards us deepening as it goes to 984 millibars, this depth will be due to the High pressure that will have moved East too, to sit over the Northern North Sea between Northern Scotland and Scandinavia at 1020 millibars. The Low West of Portugal will have split into two entities, still around the 1008 millibar range. All this will mean predominantly small surf, make sure you read the detail and stay tuned for further updates as the week goes on……

OVERALL

Nothing really of note getting in due to the High pressure over the North of us, but do stay tuned as things may change as the week goes on…………

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
