PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A Low of 972 millibars will sit just South of Iceland by midday Saturday, with another minor fat Cold front having spun off out of it at 992 millibars moving into Ireland at the same time. This picture will dotted by High pressures all over the place, one High pressure will be in North Eastern Europe around the Baltic at 1026 millibars, with another High of 1029 millibars around Serbia / Romania, with a third in the Mid-Atlantic / the Azores at 1028 millibars. Sunday will see the Icelandic Low still in situ at 978 millibars, with the High pressures in the same areas and depth too, more or less. This will all mean that the majority of the swell will be Northern based / entering, but the South West (and Wales) will also get some swell, just not as much and most of it overnight. Make sure you read the details to get the best of what there is………….

OVERALL

Overhead high in Scotland, South West and Wales will be a tad smaller, so challenging at times. Make sure you read your areas to get the best of what there is, and mind those winds. Good hunting…………

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
