PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A Low of about 970 millibars will squeeze between Iceland and Northern Scotland on Saturday, by Midday this Low will have split into two entities. With one off the North West Scottish Coast, with the other moving North and East into the Norwegian Sea, both of these will be in the High 970’s millibar-wise, so still Low overall. The High pressure will be over the Azores at 1029 millibars, there will also be High pressures around Southern and Eastern Europe at 1017 millibars. Sunday will see the Low off North Western Scotland fatten to 996 millibars, with another of about 974 millibars start to push into the Mid Northern Atlantic at 974 millibars. This will all mean that the majority of swell will hitting Northern and Western Coast read the details to get the best there is…….

OVERALL

Overhead high in Scotland with offshore winds, what else can you ask for?! The South West and Wales will have swell too, but the winds may be the downer making almost everywhere lumpy. Good hunting wherever you are…………

Too big for you in the South West really, and the winds won’t be favourable, shelter is the key, and finding some shelter. Good hunting, play safe …………

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
