PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Two big areas of deep Low pressures, one of 950 millibars to the North West of Iceland in the Northern Atrlantic (just off the Eastern Greenland Coast), and the other 946 millibars, North east of Iceland in the Norwegian Sea. The High pressures will be in the Western Atlantic coming out of North America at 1029 millibars, two other big High pressures in the Mediterranean and Eastern Europe at 1031 millibars and 1035 millibars respectively. Sunday will see the Low pressures remain in situ, but fill to 967 and 958 millibars. The High pressures will remain in situ too, and at the same depth, the exception will be the High pressure coming out of North America, which will have moved East crossing the Atlantic to be in the Near Atlantic at 1028 millibars. It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
