Example Forecast 21/03/15 – 22/03/15 – Friday Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Saturday will see a High pressure over the whole of the UK, with the centre of 1032 millibars, just off the Irish Coast. The main Low pressure will be in the Denmark Strait at 990 millibars, with a tail stretching into the North Atlantic at 1018 millibars, with another High pressure of 1033 millibars coming out of North America. Sunday will see this North American High pressure move into the Mid-Atlantic, now at 1035 millibars, pushing any Low’s North and East, with Saturday’s Denmark Strait Low now in the Greenland Sea at 980 millibars 9and it’s tail weaker at 1004 millbars North of Scotland), with another weaker Low crossing the Greenland land mass, heading again into the Denmark Strait, but this time at 989 millibars. As a result of the movement of the North American High, Saturday’s Irish High pressure, will also be pushed East into Germany and weakening a bit too, to 1029 millibars. The result of this will be that the majority of the UK will still be bathed in High pressure. All this will mean……

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
