PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A double centred Low of 984 millibars with it’s tail of 992 millibars will be in the Northern Atlantic, with the tail being more in the Mid-Atlantic. A high in the Norwegian Sea of 1020 millibars and around Northern Canada at 1020 millibars will be the counters to this main Low, with a final weaker High of 1016 millibars around the Canary Islands and the Southern Mid-Atlantic. Sunday will the Northern Atlantic Low rotating anti-clockwise moving North West towards South Eastern Greenland by Midday. So the Low pressure will continue to dominate the Western Coastlines of the UK. The High pressures iStill in the Norwegian / Greenland Sea at 1022 millibars and around Canada at 1020 millibars will help pull in the Low, and a s a consequence it’s track will remain, with potential favourable winds – read the details……but stay tuned as things may change / develop as the week goes on……….

OVERALL

Northern Scotland throughout, the East Coast will have swell, but be lumpy. The South West and Wales will be clean but small. Stay tuned as things may well change as the week goes on……….

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
