Example Forecast 04/07/15 – 05/07/15 – Wednesday Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

A High pressure of 1027 millibars in Eastern Europe / Western Russia, with a second of 1029 off the Scandinavia Coast on Saturday midday will represent the High pressures. Whilst to the West there will be a Low of 996 millibars in the near North Atlantic with another fatter Low of 1007 millibars coming out of North America. Sunday at this stage looks to be a similar scenario with the High pressures to the East of us, now having moved into the Barents Sea and into mainland Russia more, with the Low pressures forming one entity in the Northern North Atlantic at 1000 millibars. All this will mean swell mainly in the South West, but read your areas and stay tuned, as things may well change as the week goes on……….

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
