Example Forecast 11/07/15 – 12/07/15 – Tuesday Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Saturday will see a Low pressure of 1000 millibars in the near North Atlantic South of Iceland and North West of Scotland by midday. The counter to this Low will be a High pressure, which will be in the Mid Atlantic over the Azores at 1028 millibars. With a second fat-ish Low coming out of North America / Nova Scotia at 1004 millibars. So by Sunday the Low South Of Iceland will have fattened to 1008 millibars as it has been pushed Eastwards to sit over Northern Scotland. The High pressure will still be in the Mid Atlantic, whilst the Low coming out of North America will have deepened to 1000 millibars as it move into the Mid Northern Atlantic. All this will mean swell mainly in the South West, but read your areas and stay tuned, as things may well change as the week goes on……….

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
