Example Forecast 08/08/15 – 09/08/15 – Thursday Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Saturday will see a High pressure of 1031 millibars stretching from the Bay of Biscay, all the way to the Mid-Atlantic covering the Azores. Meanwhile in the Northern Atlantic, just South East of Greenland and West of Iceland a Low of 979 millibars, will be pushing cold fronts towards the North Western UK. By Sunday the Northern Low will have fattened somewhat to 986 millibars, as it moves to come between Southern Iceland and Northern Scotland. Meanwhile the High pressure in the Mid-Atlantic will have weakened to 1026 millibars, as it too has moved Eastwards to be centred around the Bay of Biscay. This will mean small swell everywhere, except up in the Highlands! ;o) Read your areas to get the best of what there is……….

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
