PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Saturday will see a Low pressure of 998 millibars around Iceland, with two other fatter Low’s in the Near Mid-Atlantic at 1012 millibars, and the Mid-North Sea at 1008 millibars respectively. The main High pressure will be in the Southern Mid-Atlantic at 1030 millibars, and off the North Coast of Norway at 1031 millibars. Sunday will see the Icelandic Low still in situ at 999 millibars, and the Mid-Atlantic weak Low will have moved into the Bay of Biscay at 1011 millibars. The High pressures will be in Norway at 1028 millibars, and the Mid-Atlantic at 1029 millibars. Not a lot of swell except for Northern Scotland on Saturday, read the details to get the best there is.……….

OVERALL

Not a lot of swell anywhere, except Northern Scotland which looks fun on Saturday, then smaller for Sunday. Everywhere else will be swell amplifying spots only, read the details……….

BEGINNERS / IMPROVERS

The South West and Wales will be small, but fun for you on Saturday. Sunday will be all but flat……….

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
