PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Saturday will see a High of 1034 millibars in the near Western Atlantic, the Low pressures will be all around, with a one off Eastern Greenland in the Greenland Sea at 1003 millibars, there will also be another Low of 996 millibars in North Eastern Europe around the Baring Sea. The third Low will be in Northern Morocco at 1010 millibars, with the final Lows coming out North America between 997 millibars and 1002 millibars. Sunday will see the High pressure expand to cover the whole of the UK, weakening slightly to 1033 millibars, the Low pressures coming out of North America will combine into one mass at 990 millibars, the Low in the Greenland Sea will be 1001 millibars, the Eastern Europe will have deepened somewhat to 998 millibars, and the Moroccan Low will move East into Algeria and Libya at 1012 millibars. This will all mean that swell will be Eastern based, but do read the details to get the best of what there is……….

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
