PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Saturday will see a Low of 995 millibars just South of Ireland, South West of the UK, with another fatter Low of 1003 millibars will be in the Mid-Atlantic, with a third Low just South East of Greenland in the North Atlantic, with a fourth and final Low coming out of North America at 1006 millibars. The High pressures will be 1028 millibars in the Southern Mid-Atlantic, with another in the Labrador sea at 1016 millibars, with two more one in Western Russia at 1038 millibars, and the final High pressure in the Middle of the Mediterranean at 1021 millibars. Sunday will see the Low in the North Atlantic grow in size / depth and area to 988 millibars, being the dominant pressure for the UK, the High pressures will be in Russia at 1036 millibars encompassing much of mainland Europe, with a second High pressure in the Southern Mid-Atlantic at 1026 millibars coming out of North America. This will all mean small swell everywhere, read your areas and stay tuned for changes as the week goes on……….

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
