PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Saturday will see a Low of 997 millibars just around Ireland, and another of 997 millibars over Southern England, the main Low will be in the Mid-South Atlantic at 995 millibars, with a third of 999 millibars just South East of Greenland in the North Atlantic. There will be a fourth and final Low coming out of North America at 1005 millibars, the main High pressure will be 1036 millibars in Western Russia with another in the Southern Mid-Atlantic at 1024 millibars, with a third over Greenland at 1013 millibars. Sunday will see the Low over Southern England cross the Southern North Sea heading into North Eastern Europe at 1006 millibars, mean while the Low in the Southern Mid-Atlantic on Saturday will have deepened and be just off the South West of Ireland at 990 millibars, the Low just off South eastern Greenland will have move South and East coming to rest North West of Scotland at 992 millibars. The High pressures will be pretty much the same as Saturday with the Russian High still in Western Russia at 1035 millibars, and the Greenland High will have fattened to 1022 millibars, the North American Low will have started to have moved East into the far Western Atlantic still at 1005 millibars. The High pressure in the Southern Mid-Atlantic will have fattened somewhat to 1027 millibars, and the spawned High of 1019 millibars in the Mediterranean will complete the picture. This will all mean swell in most places, read the details to get the best there is coming in………

OVERALL

Scotland looks fun at times on all Coasts, read the details and start hunting. The South West and Wales will also have swell, being okayi-ish on Saturday, but way better on Sunday. Read the details for your areas to make the best of what there is……….

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
