Example Forecast 26/09/15 – 27/09/15 – Thursday Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Basically this weekend will be a High pressure dominated one, which will mean small swell everywhere. Saturday will see a High of 1030 millibars sit over the whole of the UK, slightly South East based, moving into the lower North Sea. The Low will be coming out of South Eastern Greenland at 989 millibars. Sunday will be a similar picture as the Low will continue to spin around the Northern Atlantic, although a bit fatter at 1002 millibars in the Denmark Strait with a new minor Low blimp coming out of Greenland at 990 millibars. There will be a new Low coming out of North America that will sit in the Southern Mid-atantic at 998 millibars, whilst the High will have got a bit fatter to be 1035 millibars covering all of the UK and much of the North Sea. All this will mean smurf surf everywhere……….

OVERALL

Northern Scotland is the best place throughout, with Sunday being the better of the two days. Everywhere else will be even smaller, and your only hope is swell amplifying spots at bes. Read the details……….

BEGINNERS / IMPROVERS

The best hope of any action is in the far South West throughout, but there won’t be a lot to get…….

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
