Example Forecast 03/10/15 – 04/10/15 – Thursday Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Saturday will see a High of 1018 millibars sit over the UK, with a minor Low in Eastern Europe at 1014 millibars. Meanwhile in the West there will be a series of Lows, one off South Eastern Greenland at 995 millibars, another in the far Western Atlantic at 1003 millibars, with a third in the Southern Mid-Atlantic at 1003 millibars. Sunday will see all the Western Low’s move East somewhat and deepen, so the picture will look like this – there Low’s in the Mid to Northern Atlantic, one will sit West of Iceland now at 983 millibars, with another in the Mid-Atlantic at 986 millibars, with a third just West of the Bay of Biscay off North Western Spain at 993 millibars. But all of these pressure systems will stalled from getting in due to the High pressure which has now been moved East, but the UK will still be covered by 1012 millibars, with the centre of the now weakening High off to 1016 millibars around South eastern England and Northern Europe. All this will mean that due to the High pressure, the Low’s will be blocked from really getting till next week. Read your areas to get the knowledge for the weekend……….

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
