PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Saturday will see a Low of 990 millibars off Western Spain, with a fat Low of 1007 millibars off Western Iceland. The High pressures to counter this will be a fat High pressure of 1031 millibars in the Mediterranean, with another High pressure of 1024 millibars in the Western Atlantic, coming out of North America. Sunday will see the Main Mid Atlantic Low having moved North and East to sit over Northern Ireland by Midday on Sunday 994 millibars. The Icelandic Low will have spun anti-clockwise to be just West of the Denmark Strait, South East of Greenland at 1000 millibars. The High pressures meanwhile will be still in the Mediterranean, now at 1024 millibars, with the second High that was coming out of North America, now in the Mid-Atlantic at 1016 millibars. This will all mean most places will be lumpy, so make full use of the tides and shelter, but stay tuned as things may change as the week goes on……….

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
