PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Saturday will see a fat High pressure of 1035 millibars over Central Mainland Europe, with a fatish Low of 998 millibars off North Western Ireland, with a second Low coming out of the Labrador Sea around Southern Greenland at 971 millibars. Sunday will see the European High still fat about 932 millibars, but being pushed into the Mediteranean around Italy. The North Sea will see a weak Low in the South East, around 1012 millibars, meanwhile the Low from Greenland will have dropped down into the Mid Atlantic at 992 millibars, whilst another Low will be around Greenland at 972 millibars. Stay tuned as things may change as the week goes on……….

OVERALL

Saturday is the bigger of the two days everywhere (well almost everywhere), but the South West looks marginally cleaner for Sunday. Read the details and stay tuned as things may well change as the week goes on……….

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
