PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Saturday will see a Low of 961 millibars in the Mid-Atlantic, with all the High pressures to the East, in North Africa at 1020 millibars, with another High of 1020 millibars in the Black Sea. There will also be a few more High pressures, a weak one of 1004 millibars over Scandinavia, and another couple over Southern Greenland at 1027 millibars, and North Eastern Canada respectively at 1§034 millibars. Sunday will see the Low potentially split into two with one half heading North East to sit over Scotland at 976 millibars, with the second Low just off the Irish West Coast at 976 millibars, all the High pressures will remain in situ, as per Saturday. So this will all mean swell and wind all coming from the Atlantic, read the details and stay tuned, as things may change as the week develop……….

OVERALL

Swell for most places, the winds will make things lumpy-ish in the South West and Wales, the South Coast will be doing it’s usual thang. Northern Scotland looks clean………! ;o) Stay tuned, as things may change as the week develop……….

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
