PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Saturday will see a High pressure in South Eastern Europe at 1021 millibars, there will be several Lows to counter the High, one of 978 over Northern Western Scotland / Northern Ireland. A second Low will be in the Northern Atlantic at 971 millibars South East of Greenland, with a third Low of 1005 millibars coming out North America. Sunday will see The Scottish Low have moved North and East into the Norwegian Sea at 975 millibars, the Northern Atlantic Low will also have moved East towards Ireland and Scotland at 977 millibars. The North American Low will also have moved East too into the Mid Atlantic being 987 millibars, all this Eastern action will be due to a fat High of 1031 millibars coming out of North America, which will push all these pressure systems Eastwards. All this will mean swell and bashable waves, but read you areas to get the best of what there is……….

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
