PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Saturday will see a Low pressure of 979 millibars in the Near Atlantic, just North West of Ireland. There will be another Low of 997 millibars over Scandinavia, with another Low coming out of the Labrador Sea at 989 millibars. The High pressures will be in the Northern Greenland Sea at 1015 millibars, and coming out of North America at 1024 millibars. Sunday will see the North American High pressure move Easterly into the Mid Southern Atlantic to be South of the Azores at 1024 millibars, stretching all the to Southern Europe. Meanwhile the Low out of the Labrador Sea will also have moved into the Mid Atlantic at 996 millibars, and the Low off North Western Ireland will have hit Mainland UK at about 996 millibars, with another Weaker Low of 1000 millibars over Iceland. This will all mean swell but with variable winds making a lot of spots lumpy at times, read the details and stay tuned, as things may well change as the week develops……….

  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.

  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
