Example Forecast 02/07/16 – 03/07/16 Tuesday Early Bird Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Saturday will see a Low of 992 millibars in the Norwegian Sea, North of Scotland, with another minor fat Low of 1012 millibars South East of Greenland. Whilst in the Mid Atlantic a High pressure of 1032 millibars will dominate everything from our West. Sunday will see the Greenland fat Low combine with the Low in the Norwegian Sea which will be rotating counter clockwise, now off the Eastern Coast of Iceland, still at 992 millibars. The High pressure in the Mid Atlantic will still dominate the Southern Atlantic and stretch all the way to the Bay of Biscay. All this will mean swell for Western Coasts, but it is early in the week, so stay tuned as things may change as the week goes on……….

OVERALL

Northern Scotland and the South West will be the biggest of the lot, but winds don’t look favourable at this stage. But do stay tuned as things may change as the week goes on………

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
