PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Saturday will see a High pressure of 1029 millibars off the North Western Coast of Galicia, starting to enter the Bay of Biscay. Meanwhile in the Mid Atlantic West of Scotland will be a deep Low of 985 millibars, with another weak Low coming out of Newfoundland. Sunday will see Saturday’s Low move into the Norwegian Sea swiftly passing Northern Scotland enroute, the Low will now be 992 millibars, the trailing weak Low will be fat at 1012 millibars West of Scotland in the near Atlantic. Whilst the High pressure will be in the Mid Atlantic primarily east of the Azores, stretching into the Bay of Biscay and much of Southern England at 1032 millibars. This will mean swell on Sunday in Scotland, Wales and the South West read the details and stay tuned as things may change as the week goes on……….

A bit difficult to call at this stage, our best guess is that Sunday may bring more than we first think. So keep an eye on Sunday in Scotland and the South West, so read the details and stay tuned as things may well change as the week goes on………

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
