PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Saturday will see a dominance of High pressures to our West in the Atlantic, one around Iceland / the Denmark Strait at 1030 millibars, with another High pressure of 1033 millibars in the Central Mid-Atlantic. Whilst to our East in the North Sea will be a Low pressure of 996 millibars, spinning around creating swell for the East Coast. Sunday will see the Low in the Southern North Sea deepen to 993 millibars, whilst to the West the Icelandic High will have dropped down to be just South of Iceland at 1026 millibars, with the Mid Atlantic High pressure still at around 1030 millibars. All this will mean, but do read your areas and stay tuned as things may change as the week goes on……….

A mixed bag, very big in places, but the killer will be the winds, read your areas to get the full idea of what is going on, and do stay tuned as things may change with tomorrows update……….

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
