Example Forecast 25/02/17 – 26/02/17 Friday Version......

PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Saturday will see a deep low pressure of 944 millibars off the North East Coast of Greenland in the Northern Atlantic. This deep Low pressure will have long trails of fronts, and in the Mid Atlantic there will be another minor entity. To counter all this will be a fat (by comparison) High pressure of 1025 millibars over South Eastern Europe. Sunday will see the Greenland Low drop down more slightly into the Northern Atlantic, splitting as it goes into two bodies. The Northern of the two entities will be a Low still in the Northern Atlantic at 959 millibars, West of Iceland. The second entity will be in the Northern Mid Atlantic at 961 millibars, both of these will stretch fronts down through the Atlantic. There will still be an area of High pressure over Europe at around the 1020 millibars, with a fat High in the Black Sea at 1028 millibars. All this will mean a bit of a challenging one, hunting, and wind dodging will be the key, read your areas to get the best there is………

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
