PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Saturday will see a Low pressure of 1002 millibars in the Northern North Sea off Norway, whilst in the Bay of Biscay / North Eastern Atlantic there will be a big-ish High pressure of 1027 millibars off the South West Coast of England. Whilst to the West in the Mid-Atlantic there will be a fat Low pressure of 1009 millibars, with another Low pressure of 1007 millibars in the Northern Atlantic just South East of Greenland. Sunday will see a weak Low pressure of 1013 millibars over the Northern United Kingdom, whilst the High off the South West English Coast will still be in situ at 1027 millibars. Saturday’s Atlantic Low pressures will still be in situ, with the Low of 1008 millibars around the Azores, with the other Low being 1003 millibars, South of Greenland. All this will mean that there will be swell for Northern Scotland on Saturday, with the South West small overall, read your areas to get the details………

OVERALL

The Scottish North Coast and East Coast is your best bet, especially on Saturday. The rest of the United Kingdom will be small, read the details to get the best there is………

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
