PRESSURE SYNOPSIS

Saturday will see a large area High pressure with one of 1029 around South Western England, with a weak Low in the Mid Atlantic just North of the Azores at 1018 millibars. To the West will be a large fat area of High pressure in the 1032 millibar range. Meanwhile around Iceland there will be a large area of Low pressure of 993 millibars encompassing Iceland and much of the North Atlantic East of Greenland. Sunday will see the High pressure weaken as it moves into North Eastern Europe at 1026 millibars, the Mid Atlantic Low will still be around the Azores at 1015 millibars, whilst the Newfoundland High pressure in the Western Atlantic will be 1034 millibars. The Icelandic Low will have moved North and East into the Greenland Sea at 994 millibars. All this will mean the majority of the swell will be around Northern Scotland, but read your areas to get the best of what there is……

OVERALL

A small one everywhere, unless you’re in Northern Scotland, in which case it will be bashable and fun. The South West will be small, so head to swell amplifying spots to make the most of what there is, read your areas to get the best there is……….

It should be remembered

It should be remembered:

  • Regardless of the Weekend Outlook if there is surf, you should be out there to improve your surfing ability
  • so unless it’s flat, just ignore it(!) and go surfing.
  • The Weekend Outlook is aimed at those who are competent at paddling out in 6ft plus surf and looking for perfect conditions.
  • This is a SURF report, we care about the waves, as to whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy or hailing is incidental, and neither here nor there as far as we are concerned.
  • Also note that this is always written for midday, so there may be variances during the AM and PM.
  • Wave Heights are written in what you are actually taking in the face / duck diving, we are not into macho bs of measuring the wave from the back, this is the real thing, what you drop and ride = simple.
