Areas Covered:

Centred on Thurso, but may also mention Edinburgh and Machrihanish in the recommendation area.

Well overhead for the North Coast on Saturday with strong cross-shore winds, spots that offer shelter are the call, and there is enough swell for some wrap-around swell at sheltered spots. Sunday will see the swell drop a little (but not a lot), but the winds will go more onshore from the North, still strong, making everywhere lumpy. The East Coast will be shoulder high perhaps at times on Saturday, with cross-offshore winds, so head to exposed swell amplifying spots and it could be fun. Sunday will see more swell reaching to overhead, but the winds will be cross-onshore Northly, so what there is will be lumpy overall. The West Coast will be overhead, well overhead on Saturday with strong cross-shore winds, making all West facing spots very lumpy. So you’re only hope is sheltered wrap-around spots, or spots that get some wrap-around swell. Sunday will be a solid 3-5ft (if not bigger), with Northerly winds, so South facing spots will be clean. Overall, North Coast and the east Coast would be our call on Saturday, with the West Coast being the better option for Sunday. Good hunting, but stay tuned for further updates, as things may change as the week goes on…………
